Family Photo GalleryThe Danish Connection Marion Pieper was born and raised in Denmark in the late 19th century. She was employed as a cook for Carl Wilhelm Jorgensen. Marion married August Wilhelm Pieper when she was in her 20's, and both later immigrated to the United States where they had a daughter named Elna.

Emanuel worked for August Pieper on his dairy farm in Newington, Connecticut, and to raise extra money, Emanuel design and built his own farm tractors. The tractors were used to replace the horses at the Pieper's farm.

Louise and Alfred's Wedding
When World War II began, the Jorgensens moved to Plainville, Connecticut where Emanuel began working for New Departure. When they later moved to Tomlinson Avenue in Plainville, Alice Jorgenson met Alfred Mastrianni who lived next door.

Eight years later, Alice and Alfred were married, and one year after that, they had a son named Steven, and another son Robert one year later. Five years after Robert's birth, Emanuel Jorgensen passed away, leaving Elna with no way to support herself. Elna was not the type of person to give up, and she began working at the Wiremold Company to support herself. An independent person who took pride in supporting herself, Elna continued to work until she retired in 1974. Elna Jorgensen passed away in 1994. In 1978, Steven married Mary Lou Gerent, and had a son Steven Jr. They were divorced in 1982. In 1987, Steven married Debra Engelson, and they moved to South Windsor, Connecticut.
